VIDEO PRODUCTION

Grade 9 Video

This was the result of a project assigned to the grade 12 class every year. The assignment is to create the video shown to the elementary schools in the area to attempt to attract more student to Holy Cross. The video is a compilation of grade 9 students answering questions to give the grade 8 kids an idea of how their first year was. Each group is assigned a question to do the video for, my group was assigned the question: "What is your opinion of the School Uniform?". In each group there were three jobs to be done, there was the producer, the camera operator/video editor, and audio editor. I was assigned the jobs of camera operator/video editor, and audio editor; this was due to the fact that our group had two people instead of 3. Two pieces of software were used for the creation of this video, Final Cut Pro for video editing and Soundtrack Pro for audio editing. The process was a simple one; we filmed the grade 9 students answering the questions, we then filmed a show that best fit their answer, and used blue screen to place the shot behind the student.

Introduction Video

This is an example of one of the many HCTV introduction videos, this one being done by me; Nicholas Robidoux. This was an individual project using three pieces of software; Final Cut Pro for video, Soundtrack Pro for audio, and Motion for the animations. With this the primary concept was to introduce the logo with as much impact as possible, that's why is had the fast pace approach with the eruption effect of the logo. Then after the the impact the idea was to calmly ease in the coming video, to do this I dropped the busy background and slowly faded each layer out one by one.
